Dead Zones are ocean areas stripped of oxygen where marine life suffocates and dies, formed when rainfall washes livestock manure and feed-crop fertilizers into rivers, triggering massive algal blooms that consume all the water’s oxygen as they decay.
Animal Agriculture is responsible for 30 per cent of all global greenhouse emissions, including methane.

If humanity completely stopped factory farming and transitioned to a plant-based food system, it would trigger the largest and fastest environmental recovery in human history.
Ending factory farming would buy humanity roughly 30 years of breathing room by stabilizing greenhouse gas levels, making it biologically possible to keep global warming well below the dangerous 1.5°C threshold.
